Tomarata Bridge - Major Remedial

Tomarata Bridge is a 40m long, 3 span bridge built in the 1950's, and is a vital link for the small beach town of Mangawhai. 

After the discovery of severe concrete deterioration, Freyssinet were brought in as the main contractors for the repair works. Main achievements of the project were the installation of an innovative access system, using the new Layher flexbeams system, self performed hydro-demolition around marine tides, galvanic cathodic protection installation, and box and pour of new beam soffits using ready-mix concrete. 

This was a very important project for the local community, and Freyssinet were proud to deliver a fully repaired bridge and a well managed project.
