Tawa Reservoir - Seismic Strengthening
Tawa Reservoir - Seismic Strengthening
24m in diameter and 6m high with a dome roof, Tawa Reservoir is a concrete water tank in Wellington.
The whole structure was to undergo seismic strengthening due to overall poor condition and leaks. The original scope for this project was to install FRP wrap around the perimeter, pour overlay concrete slab and roof topping, and application of waterproofing layers to the roof and internal walls. Due to the major seismic event in November 20167, some of the original scope was removed leaving the overlay concrete slab and all the waterproofing.
Remediation of steel pipework and installation of handrails were added to the original scope.
